Tariffs & pricing
A tariff defines what a charging session costs. In GitCharger you build tariffs once, then assign them to the chargers they apply to. Tariffs live under Settings → Tariffs.
How pricing is structured
- Tariff: a named, priced plan made up of components.
- Components: the charges that make up a tariff. A tariff can combine:
- a per-kWh energy rate (optionally tiered by energy delivered or by power band, so AC and DC can price differently),
- a time rate (per minute or per hour) while charging,
- an idle fee that starts after a grace period once charging finishes, and
- a flat session fee.
- Assignment: where a tariff applies, resolved by precedence connector > charger > location, with a company-wide default as the fallback.
Build a tariff
- Go to Settings → Tariffs and open the catalog.
- Create a tariff (or adopt a catalog template), set its name and currency.
- Add components: energy, time, idle, and/or session, with any tiers or power bands.
- Save. Use the simulator to preview a sample session's cost before you publish.
Assign a tariff
From Assignments, pick the tariff and the scope it applies to:
- a specific connector,
- a whole charger, or
- a location (all its chargers), or the company-wide default.
The most specific active assignment wins (connector over charger over location).
note
Tariffs are a paid capability. If Tariffs is unavailable, check your role and plan.
