Add a charger

Adding a charger registers it in your workspace so you can monitor its status, control it, and later publish it to the network.

Steps​

  1. Go to Chargers in the sidebar.
  2. Choose Add charger.
  3. Fill in the charger's details:
    • Name: a friendly label (e.g. "HQ L2 Bay 02").
    • Charge point ID: the identifier your charger reports over OCPP.
    • Location: the site this charger belongs to (see Locations).
    • Tags: optional labels to organize it (see Tags).
  4. Save. The charger appears in your Chargers list.

Connecting the physical charger​

For live status and remote control, your charger connects to GitCharger over OCPP using the charge point ID you entered. Point your charger's OCPP endpoint at the GitCharger connection URL provided for your workspace, and confirm it shows as connected in the Chargers list.
